Consent, safety and trust in erotic hypnosis
The best sessions start long before the first induction. Erotic hypnosis works because the subject trusts the hypnotist and the hypnotist respects that trust. These are the habits our community relies on.
Talk first: negotiate the session
Before anyone goes under, agree what the session is and isn't. Cover:
- What's in: the experiences, sensations and themes you both want.
- What's out: hard limits that are never touched, and soft limits that need a check-in first.
- Triggers: which ones, what they do, and when they'll be removed. No surprise triggers, ever.
- The exit: an agreed way to stop. A subject can always wake up, and should know a word or action that ends the session at once.
Write it down in chat if that helps. A good hypnotist is happy to repeat it at the start of the session.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time
Agreeing to a session doesn't mean agreeing to everything in it, and it doesn't carry over to the next one. Either of you can pause or stop whenever you like, for any reason. Nobody should be pressured to go deeper, try something new, or keep a trigger they no longer want.
Keep a clear head
Hypnosis works best, and is safest, when both people are sober and rested. Avoid alcohol and drugs before or during a session.
Know when hypnosis isn't right
Erotic hypnosis is play, not therapy. If you live with epilepsy, a heart condition, PTSD, psychosis or another serious health condition, or you're working through trauma, talk to a medical professional first and be open with your partner. A responsible hypnotist will steer clear of anything that feels like treatment.
Meeting someone in person
- Get to know him first: chat, then a voice or video session.
- Check his profile, his history in the community, and whether other members have vouched for him with Members I Met.
- Meet somewhere public before going anywhere private, and tell a friend where you'll be.
- Agree the session plan again face to face. Your limits don't change because you're in the same room.
Protect your privacy
Share personal details only when you're ready. On Hypnosis for Guys you choose who can see your profile and each of your photo albums, and you can block or report anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
Aftercare and the debrief
After a session, wake fully and take a few minutes together. Remove any temporary triggers, check in on how it felt, and talk about what to change next time. A quick message the next day is a good habit too.
